CASE STUDY: Direct Marketing Web Research
Problem
The direct marketing company needed to quickly update mailing lists from documents recorded in hundreds of US county web sites. The documents (mostly deeds, new and refinance mortgages, constructions liens and contracts) were prepared in non-standard formats, reducing the use of OCR accuracy. For the largest counties the customer needed daily overnight results to beat the competition to market. A large, low cost workforce was required to accomplish the task.
Business Case
The customer is a direct mail company targeting new homeowners. Each prospect must be screened to meet location, housing type, and housing value criteria. Accurate data is needed to achieve targeted response rates and hold down in targeted areas. The customer has software that “crawls” the county web sites, but could not hire or pay the costs for in-house staff to read the documents and capture the correct data.
Solution
CPI's experienced title processing team is trained to read the document and qualify the prospect, and then and capture the required data. CPI is working over two shifts to assure data is updated within 24 hours of positing to county websites. CPI staff is also monitoring the county sites and notifies our customer of any changes that could reduce the number of possible documents found by the ‘crawling’ software.
